The driving theory test is a computer based test which has two parts. You will need to successfully pass both parts before you can book your practical car driving test.
part 1 – theory questions & case study
This part contains 45 multiple choice theory questions which relate to various aspects of driving a car safely. You will also have a case study based on a road or traffic scenario with an additional 5 questions.
The pass mark for this section is 43 out of 50.
part 2 – hazard perception test
This section contains 14 short one minute video clips which each contain potential driving hazards. 13 of these clips have one hazards and 1 of the clips has two making 15 in total.
You will need to watch these videos carefully on a computer monitor and react early to any hazards seen bay clicking on a computer mouse. You can score between 5 and zero points depending on how early you can recognise these hazards.
The pass mark for this section is 53 out of 50.
